The thing you need to appreciate about Guild Wars is that your secondary profession reflects how you want to play your character - in other words, the best secondary is determined by what exactly you want to do. In general, monk is a good secondary for any profession, as it provides fast and effective self-healing. Beginning Rangers are also often found with a Warrior or Mesmer secondary. Beginning Eles, on the other hand, most often use Ranger or Mesmer.
As for farming, there are many, many places to farm for many different things. One of my personal favorites is in the Fissure of Woe as a Ranger/Mesmer: R/Me Solo FoW Farmer |

1. There is no best place, totally dependent on your class/build and what you are looking to get (golds from chests, greens drops, rare materials).
2. There is no best secondary, not for any class. And again, would be totally dependent on what you are doing (chest running, green farming, general pve, pvp) and what build you want to run. Check out the Campfire section here or the builds over at the wiki if you dont know what you even want. 3. See #2. not meant as a flame, we are just gonna need a lot more info before we could even begin to suggest any information. |

Guild Wars is unlike any other game I have played when it comes to classes (aka Professions).
The versatility of each profession mix makes things very hard to nail down. But, this is a good thing Healing, tanking and damage dealing roles aren't as clearly defined in Guild Wars. You still need those jobs done, but they can be done in various ways. |

Basically, there is no right answer to your questions. You'll just have to experiment and see what works for you.
I'd ask around the Farming forum. And try to be a bit more specific, because the first thing they're gonna ask there is "Well, what do you wanna farm?" |
